Install on macOS

Requirements

• Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer)
• macOS 13.5 or newer
• About 3 GB free for the separately downloaded model
• FFmpeg for audio and video file import

Install FFmpeg with Homebrew if needed:

brew install ffmpeg

Release build

1. Download Confucius-Captions-macOS-arm64.zip from the latest release.
2. Unzip it and move Confucius Captions.app to /Applications.
3. Complete first-run model setup.
4. Open the app. The first unsigned development release may require Control-clicking the app and choosing Open.

The distributed build is ad-hoc signed for integrity checking. Developer ID signing and Apple notarization require maintainer credentials and are not part of the public build workflow.

Windows packaging is on hold; use an Apple Silicon Mac for this release.
